Procurement and tenders

We advertise open approaches to market on AusTender when we buy goods and services. Register to AusTender and the Supplier Portal to be notified of tendering opportunities related to your business.

The Department of Finance publishes details about how we manage government procurement.

Procurement feedback

To provide feedback or to make a complaint please email procurement.feedback@nationalepa.gov.au.

We aim to deal with complaints in a fair and non-discriminatory way. To help us investigate and respond to your feedback or complaint, please include:

  • a reference number for the procurement such as the 'ATM ID' on AusTender
  • details of your feedback regarding the procurement process
  • any supporting documentation or information
  • whether you intend the complaint to be a formal complaint under section 18 of the Government Procurement (Judicial Review) Act 2018 (GPJR Act)
  • which paragraph(s) are relevant if you believe the Commonwealth Procurement Rules have been breached
  • what outcome you are seeking.

Process for assessment

Complaints under the GPJR Act are handled in accordance with the Act and guidance from the Department of Finance. We will acknowledge receipt in writing within 5 business days of receipt.

All feedback will be investigated. We will contact you to provide an estimated timeframe for the investigation and resolution if your feedback is a complaint.

Public Interest Certificates

Under the GPJR Act, certain types of procurements may be suspended while complaints are being investigated or injunctions are being considered. We may issue a Public Interest Certificate (PIC) in circumstances where we consider that it is not in the public interest for a procurement process to be suspended.

PICs issued by the National EPA

The National Environmental Protection Agency has not issued any PICs.
