About the draft Cost Recovery Implementation Statement

The Product Emissions Standards Act 2017 (PES Act) commenced on 15 September 2017. To support the cost of regulating emissions standards for non-road spark ignition engines and equipment (NRSIEE) under the PES Act, the Government will introduce cost recovery arrangements.

The Department of the Environment and Energy has drafted a cost recovery implementation statement (CRIS) that sets out how proposed cost recovery charges (fees and levies) will be implemented for regulating emissions standards for NRSIEE. The Department sought comments on these proposed arrangements.

The call for public comments on the draft CRIS was open from 13 October 2017 to 6 November 2017.
