Former assessment agreement with the Australian Capital Territory
We previously had a bilateral agreement with the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) for environmental assessments.
Due to the introduction of the new ACT planning legislation, the previous ACT bilateral agreement is no longer valid.
Projects already under assessment under the former bilateral agreement are not affected.
New projects
Projects in the ACT should continue to be referred to the ACT Government in the first instance. This is due to transitional arrangements being in place.
If projects potentially impact Commonwealth protected matters, they must also be submitted to us.
