Cost Recovery Implementation Statements
The long-term sustainability of the National EPA will be supported through improved cost recovery arrangements. This ensures the cost of regulatory activities undertaken by government is borne by those using the system.
Cost recovery charges will be phased in to enable industry time to adjust. We will consult with industry stakeholders.
Existing fee exemptions will be maintained for:
- small businesses
- special circumstances waivers for some projects, applicants and activities.
This is to ensure these groups are not disproportionately impacted by the changes.
