The National Environmental Protection Agency Act 2025 provides for the Minister for the Environment and Water to set out expectations for the National EPA.
The Minister does this through a Statement of Expectations. It explains what the Australian Government expects the National EPA to focus on and achieve.
The National EPA responds with a Statement of Intent. The Statement of Intent explains how the agency will meet those expectations.

The National EPA is developing its Statement of Intent in response to the Statement of Expectations.
The Statement of Intent will be published once it is finalised.
