There are no application fees or charges for waste export licences, renewals, variations and exemptions.
Between November and December 2022, the department sought feedback on cost recovery arrangements for the regulation of waste exports.

Following consultation, fees relating to the export of regulated waste material were introduced. Fees were outlined in amendments to the Recycling and Waste Reduction (Fees) Rules 2020 and were effective from 1 July 2024 to 20 November 2024. A cost recovery levy was not introduced.
